Privacy Policy

Gradeful is an independent study platform for AUB and LAU students. We collect only the information needed to run course previews, course requests, support, safety, and paid course-pack features.

Gradeful is not affiliated with AUB, LAU, or any instructor. Do not upload university documents, professor materials, exam files, or private third-party content unless you have the right to share them.

• Contact details, such as email address or support messages.
• Course request details, such as university, course code, course title, instructor name, and notes.
• Account details when accounts are active, such as login method, course access, and subscription status.
• Exam dates and optional topic notes you enter for planning. These are not a timetable upload and are not required to keep access.
• Optional syllabus files you choose to upload. These stay private to your account. Gradeful does not share them with other students or use them to author shared lessons.
• Historic schedule screenshots or AUBsis PDFs from an old access check. New purchases do not require them, and studying is never paused for a missing file.
• Payment and access records when paid access is active.
• First-party product events (searches, previews, checkout starts, study completions) stored with an internal user id. We do not send your full name or email to an analytics vendor.
• Usage, device class, and security data needed to run the service, such as pages in the study workspace, feature usage, IP address for abuse prevention, and browser type.
• Content feedback, correction reports, and academic-integrity reports.

• To prioritize new course coverage.
• To verify access, payment status, and course eligibility.
• To prevent abuse, account sharing abuse, scraping, or cheating.
• To improve explanations, quizzes, and platform reliability.
• To understand which courses students search for, preview, and pay for, so we can prioritize coverage.
• To comply with legal, safety, and academic-integrity obligations.

Gradeful's AI tutor is a course tutor, not a generic chat box. It answers from Gradeful-authored lessons, concept metadata, and your own progress in courses you have access to. It does not invent what a professor will put on an exam. Assessment-scope answers use only Gradeful lessons and exam dates you entered.

Prompts are sent to the tutoring model to generate a reply for that turn. Gradeful does not store full tutor conversations. Usage metrics (model, token counts, estimated cost, latency, course, mode, success or error) are kept without prompt or response text for about 90 days so we can keep the tutor reliable and affordable.

There is no file-upload control on the tutor today. If you paste homework into a message, that text is working material for that turn only. It is not saved as a student file, not reused to author shared Gradeful lessons, and not used to train models. Do not upload professor slides, private exams, or other university files for the tutor to treat as Gradeful content.

If a private-upload tutor is added later, those files would live in a private per-student store with separate permissions, retention, and no reuse for shared Gradeful content.

Gradeful may share information with service providers that help run the platform, including hosting, database, email, payment, support, security, and AI providers. Product funnels are stored first-party today. If a third-party analytics vendor is added later, that would require a separate consent prompt and would still omit full name and email unless the law requires them. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate misuse.

Gradeful does not sell student personal information as a standalone data product.

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the platform, keep records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Students may request deletion of personal data, subject to records Gradeful must keep for security, payment, academic-integrity, or legal reasons.

Optional syllabus files are kept until you delete them or close the account. There is no automatic extractor today, so Gradeful does not delete the original after upload. You can delete the file anytime from Semester Plan or course settings. Historic registration screenshots from the retired schedule check are kept only as a private archive for support; they are not used to lock studying.

AI tutor usage metrics (without conversation text) are intended to be retained for 90 days. Because conversations are not stored, there is no tutor-history transcript to download or delete. Pasted tutor text is not retained after the reply is generated.

First-party product events (funnels, verified payments, study completions) are intended to be retained for about 13 months, then deleted or detached from the user id. They use an internal account id, not your email address.

Students should not submit confidential, copyrighted, or restricted course materials. If you believe content on Gradeful includes protected material or personal information, contact Gradeful with the course, page, and details so it can be reviewed.
